This is a gathering of urban poor churchplanters and workers in the slums.  It is a story-telling gathering.  From the stories we will integrate a theology and practice of planting the church in the slums of Chennai.

Pre-consultation Preparation

For practical reasons we wish to invite those pastors who are having more than 75% of the church members living in slum areas.  Chennai City has around 400-500 official slums.  We would like to invite 50 pastors in the following category;

North Chennai           -            5 Pastors

North-West Chennai   -            5 Pastors

South Chennai           -            5 Pastors

South-West Chennai   -            5 Pastors

Central Chennai         -            30 Pastors

Other Cities               -            10 Pastors

There are about 13 Churches / Organisations which are involved in outreach ministry in slum areas.  Eg.: World Vision, Inter Mission-Micro Enterprise Development, Compassion, Methodist Church, ECI Church, Church of God in India, Apostolic Christian Assembly, Assemblies of God Church, Maranatha Church, All Christian Evangelical And Social Service Fellowship (ACEASSF), COME Ministry, Youth for Christ & YWAM.
